ChatGPT / AI Assistant + CaptiFi

Generate review replies, welcome emails and marketing copy in one click with AI, plus a splash-page chatbot. Coming soon to CaptiFi. Free trial.

Overview

What does the ChatGPT / AI Assistant integration do?

The ChatGPT and AI Assistant integration is coming soon to CaptiFi and is not yet live. When it lands, it will bring OpenAI-powered writing into the parts of CaptiFi where venue owners already spend their time. Instead of staring at a blank box, you will be able to generate review replies, welcome emails and marketing copy in one click, drawing on the guest and venue context CaptiFi already holds. The aim is simple: take the slowest, most repetitive writing tasks off a busy operator's plate without losing your own voice.

Venues connect AI because the words matter but the time does not exist. A cafe owner who has just closed up does not want to draft ten review replies or a fresh welcome email from scratch. With this feature, CaptiFi will suggest a first draft you can edit and send, tuned to the review or the campaign in front of you. Because CaptiFi already captures consented guest data at WiFi sign-in, the generated content can reference the venue and the moment rather than reading like generic filler.

The second half of the integration is an optional, opt-in AI chatbot on your splash page. When enabled, it will answer common WiFi questions for guests, things like how to connect, why a page is not loading or what the password is, and escalate to your staff when it cannot help. It is designed to reduce the small interruptions that pull staff away from service, while keeping a human in the loop for anything the bot should not handle alone.

What you get

Why connect ChatGPT / AI Assistant to CaptiFi

One-click review replies

It will let you generate a thoughtful, on-brand response to a guest review in a single click, so you can keep your reputation tidy without writing every reply from scratch.

Faster welcome emails and campaigns

It will draft welcome emails and marketing copy for your opted-in guest list in seconds, giving you an editable starting point instead of a blank page.

An opt-in splash-page chatbot

A guest-facing AI assistant will answer common WiFi questions on your splash page and hand off to your staff when a question needs a human, cutting down on small interruptions during service.

Built on the data you already capture

Because CaptiFi already collects consented guest details and visit context at sign-in, the AI can write content that references the real venue and moment rather than generic, off-the-shelf wording.

How it works

How it will work

1

Wait for the rollout

The ChatGPT and AI Assistant integration is on the CaptiFi roadmap and is not yet available. Setup will become possible once the feature ships to your dashboard.

2

Enable AI content tools

When it goes live, you will turn on AI assistance from your CaptiFi settings, which adds a one-click generate option to review replies, welcome emails and marketing copy.

3

Set your tone and brand details

You will give the assistant a few details about your venue and preferred tone so the drafts it produces sound like you rather than a generic template.

4

Turn on the optional splash-page chatbot

If you want guest-facing help, you will opt in to the AI chatbot, point it at your common WiFi FAQs and set when it should escalate a conversation to your staff.

5

Review before you send

Every AI draft is yours to edit and approve, so you stay in control of what actually goes out to guests and what the chatbot is allowed to handle.

In the real world

How venues use ChatGPT / AI Assistant with CaptiFi

Cafe

A cafe owner clears a backlog of Google reviews in minutes, generating a warm, specific reply to each one and editing the few that need a personal touch before posting.

Salon

A salon manager drafts a welcome email for new WiFi guests in one click, then tweaks the offer and sends it to everyone who opted in that week.

Pub

A busy pub switches on the splash-page chatbot so guests asking how to get online get an instant answer, and only the trickier questions reach staff behind the bar.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is the ChatGPT and AI Assistant integration available yet?
Not yet. It is on the CaptiFi roadmap and coming soon, so you cannot turn it on today. You can still start a free trial now and use everything that is already live, including guest data capture and the integrations that are available, then enable the AI features as soon as they ship to your dashboard.
What will the AI be able to write for me?
When it launches, it is planned to generate three things in one click: replies to guest reviews, welcome emails for new WiFi guests, and general marketing copy. Each one is produced as an editable draft using the venue and guest context CaptiFi already holds, so you get a sensible starting point rather than a blank page, and you approve everything before it goes out.
How will the splash-page chatbot work?
The chatbot will be an optional, opt-in feature on your captive portal. When enabled, it answers common WiFi questions for guests, such as how to connect or why a page will not load, and escalates to your staff when it cannot help. You decide whether to switch it on and where the line sits between what the bot handles and what a person should.
Which AI model powers this integration?
The content generation features are planned to be powered by OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. CaptiFi will handle the connection for you, so you will not need your own separate ChatGPT subscription or API key to use the one-click drafting tools inside your dashboard once the feature is live.
Will the AI send anything to guests automatically?
No. The design keeps a human in the loop. Review replies, welcome emails and marketing copy are produced as drafts for you to read, edit and approve before they are sent. For the splash-page chatbot, you set the questions it can answer and the point at which it must hand a conversation over to your staff.
What guest data will the AI use?
It will only draw on the consented data CaptiFi already captures at WiFi sign-in, such as a guest's email, name where given, the venue, the visit date and their marketing opt-in status, plus the text of a review when drafting a reply. Only opted-in guest data is used for marketing content, so your emails and campaigns stay consistent with GDPR and PECR.
