Ask Your Data Questions in Plain English

CaptiFi's AI Analytics Assistant lets you query your guest data conversationally. Ask "What was my busiest day last month?" or "Which location has the best opt-in rate?" and get instant, actionable answers - no SQL, no spreadsheets, no data science degree. It can also draft a marketing email from your own guest data and answer setup questions from the CaptiFi documentation.

The Problem

Venue operators aren't data analysts. They need answers to simple business questions but don't have time to dig through dashboards and export spreadsheets.

The CaptiFi Solution

CaptiFi's AI chatbot understands your data and answers questions in plain English. Get insights about guest trends, compare locations, and identify opportunities, all through a simple conversation. The assistant is switched on per account rather than by plan: ask us to enable it and it appears in your dashboard sidebar.

What is an AI analytics assistant for guest WiFi?

It is a chat window in your dashboard that already has your guest data in front of it. You ask a question in plain English, such as which venue had the best opt-in rate last month, and it answers from your own figures using your own venue names. The point is not novelty, it is that the answer arrives in one sentence instead of three clicks and a mental subtraction, which means the question actually gets asked during a busy week.

Can it see other customers' data?

No. The figures are filtered to the venues your login can access before the question is ever asked, so there is nothing in the conversation to leak. A team member restricted to one venue gets answers about that venue only, and the same restriction applies to the assistant as to every other page they can open.

Does it send alerts when something changes?

No, and that is worth stating plainly rather than implying otherwise. It will point out a pattern it notices while it answers you, such as one site growing faster than the others or a weekday that has gone quiet, but nothing is pushed to you outside a conversation. Scheduled reporting is the monthly PDF, and anything that needs to reach you promptly is a dashboard alert.

Should I trust it for reporting?

Use it to read your own data quickly, not as the source of truth for a number you are about to put in front of a landlord or a head office. For that, the Analytics page and the monthly PDF give you the same figures with no model in between. The assistant is instructed to answer only from the data it is given, and never to invent an example venue, but a language model is still a language model.

CaptiFi is a guest WiFi marketing platform for venues, restaurants, hotels, cafés, retail spaces and short-term rentals. It turns branded WiFi logins into first-party customer data, automated Google review requests, repeat visitor insights and email marketing lists.

In practice

What you can actually ask it

It answers from your data, and it also answers from the CaptiFi documentation, so it doubles as first-line support.

Your numbers

  • “How many guests did we get last month?”
  • “What was our busiest day?”
  • “How does this week compare with last week?”
  • “What share of our guests opted in to marketing?”

Comparing venues

  • “Which location has the best opt-in rate?”
  • “Which site is growing fastest?”
  • “Focus on the Brooklyn venue and tell me how it is doing.”
  • “Which venue has the most returning guests?”

Getting work done

  • “Draft an email to win back guests who have not visited in a month.”
  • “Suggest a campaign based on who came in last week.”
  • “Take me to the guest list.”
  • “Download this conversation.”

Setup and support

  • “How do I connect a UniFi controller?”
  • “What ports does the captive portal need?”
  • “Why are guests not seeing my splash page?”
  • “How do I add a birthday question to my form?”
Straight answers

What it does not do

  • It does not send alerts. Patterns are mentioned while it answers you. Nothing is pushed outside a conversation.
  • It does not send anything to a guest. It will draft an email or a text. Sending stays a decision you make in the campaign builder.
  • It does not change your settings. It can take you to the right page on the classic dashboard, but it does not edit your splash page, your plan or your venues.
  • It does not see anyone else's venues. The data is filtered to your login before the question is asked, including for team members limited to one site.
  • It is not on by default. The assistant is switched on per account on request, not by plan, so ask us and it appears in your sidebar.
FAQs

AI assistant questions answered

What can I ask the CaptiFi AI assistant?
Anything you would otherwise dig through the dashboard for: how many guests came last month, which venue has the best opt-in rate, how this week compares with last week, which day is busiest, or what share of your guests are students if you collect that on your splash page. It answers from your own figures, not from generic examples.
Does it make numbers up?
Your real figures are handed to the assistant with every question, and it is instructed to answer from them and to use your actual venue names. Treat it as a fast way to read your own data rather than a source of truth for anything you would put in front of a landlord: for that, use the Analytics page or the monthly PDF, which are the same numbers without a model in between.
Can it see other customers' data?
No. The data handed to the assistant is filtered to the venues your login can access before the question is asked, so there is nothing in the conversation to leak. A team member limited to one venue gets answers about that venue only.
Does it send me alerts when something changes?
No, and it is worth being clear about that. It points out patterns it notices while answering you, such as a site growing or a quiet weekday, but nothing is pushed to you outside a conversation. For scheduled reporting use the monthly PDF, and for things that need to reach you promptly use the dashboard alerts.
Can it write my marketing emails?
It will draft one from your guest data, with a subject line, body, personalisation hints and a call to action, which you then take into the campaign builder to edit and send. It drafts, it does not send: nothing reaches a guest without you pressing send.
Can it help with setup problems?
Yes. It answers from the CaptiFi documentation as well as your data, so questions about UniFi setup, port forwarding or captive portal configuration get a real answer rather than a redirect to support.
How do I get the AI assistant on my account?
Ask us to switch it on. It is enabled per account rather than by plan, so it will not appear in your sidebar until we have turned it on for you, and until then the page tells you your account does not have access. Existing customers can request it from the dashboard support page.
Can I keep a copy of a conversation?
Yes. Download transcript saves the conversation, which is useful when the answer becomes the basis of a decision you want a record of, or when you want to paste the figures into a report.

CaptiFi completely changed my business. Before, every guest was a one-time booking. Now I have a direct line to thousands of people who've stayed in the plane. I can offer them return deals, send updates about new features, and keep them engaged. My repeat booking rate went from almost zero to 35%. It's been incredible.
