Sync WiFi guest profiles into Airship for push notifications and in-app journeys from your mobile app. Coming soon to CaptiFi. Start your free trial.
The Airship integration is coming soon and is on the CaptiFi roadmap, so it is not live yet. When it lands, it will let venues sync the guest profiles captured on their WiFi splash page into Airship audiences. Airship is a mobile engagement platform built for push notifications, in-app messaging and SMS journeys, and it is most useful for venues that already run their own branded mobile app. The aim is to feed that app's messaging engine with the consented first-party data your WiFi collects.
Every time a guest signs in to your WiFi and opts in, CaptiFi captures details such as their email address, name, the venue they visited and the date of the visit. Once the connector is live, that profile and the sign-in event will flow into Airship, where you can match guests to existing app users, group them into audiences and trigger journeys. The point of connecting the two is to turn anonymous footfall into known contacts you can re-engage through the channels Airship already powers for you.
Because Airship works best alongside a mobile app and SMS programme, this integration is aimed at larger or multi-site operators who have already invested in an app. If you do not run an app today, the email and SMS integrations that are already live will cover most re-engagement needs while the Airship connector is finished.
It will let you push consented WiFi guest profiles into Airship so your existing app, push and SMS programme has fresh first-party contacts to work with rather than guessing at who visited.
A guest signing in on your WiFi will be able to start an Airship journey, so a physical visit can kick off a push notification, in-app message or SMS sequence automatically.
It will let you segment Airship audiences by venue, visit date and consent state, so the right guests receive the right message instead of one blanket send.
Only guests who opt in on the splash page will be synced, and their marketing consent travels with the profile so your Airship messaging stays compliant.
The Airship connector is part of the coming-soon rollout, so the first step is to start a CaptiFi free trial and register your interest so you are notified the moment it goes live.
In the meantime, set up your branded captive portal so guests opt in when they sign in to the WiFi. This is the consented data that will later flow into Airship.
When the integration launches you will authorise CaptiFi against your Airship project so guest profiles can be written into the right Airship audience.
You will map the CaptiFi guest fields, such as email, name, venue and visit date, to your Airship audience and tags, then confirm only opted-in guests are sent.
Once profiles are flowing you will create push, in-app and SMS journeys in Airship that trigger from a new WiFi sign-in, using the tools your mobile team already knows.
A hotel group with a guest app will be able to send a returning visitor an in-app offer the next time they join the lobby WiFi, recognising them from their synced profile.
A restaurant chain will be able to trigger an Airship push notification a few days after a guest's WiFi visit, inviting them back with a midweek offer through their existing app.
A retailer running an app loyalty scheme will be able to enrol guests who sign in on the store WiFi into an SMS welcome journey, turning first-time footfall into app sign-ups.
